Tanagrams are a great activity for a single person, no matter where they are.
The best part is because it is plastic, you can take it anywhere without having to worry about it being damaged by water. It’s also easy to clean.
Tools:
- Scissors
- Pattern (see PDF)
Materials:
- Plastic canvas sheet, any color
- Images to recreate with pieces
Steps:
Cut — Cut pieces of plastic canvas as shown on pattern. I started with two sheets so that I could lay one on top of the other to get the square shape to start. It was faster than counting the squares.
Play — Using diagrams, books and even online images, assemble the pieces to make the image(s) you choose.
NOTE: Each diagram should use all the pieces.
Option — You can stitch the edges or entire piece if you wish. The pictured sample is unstitched.
