Grab ‘n’ Go: Find in a Bottle

Make a puzzle by hiding items in a recycled clear plastic bottle.

The puzzle is solved by moving the bottle around and finding the items within it.

Alternately, you can prepare the bottles yourself and have others find the items in the bottle as an activity.

Tools:

• Funnel or sheet of paper

Materials:

• Clear plastic bottle with lid
• Rice
• Small trinkets
• Glue

Steps:
Clean — Clean out the bottle and remove the label.

Select trinkets — Find 10-20 small items around your home or outside that you can include. Some items might be:

• Coins
• Shells
• Novelty items
• Charms
• Game pieces
• Marbles

Alternate fillings — Add some rice to the bottle, then a couple trinkets. Alternate these items so the trinkets are not together. Do not fill completely so the items can move inside.

Option:
Instead of rice, you can use sand, fine gravel, etc. for your filler.
