For younger walkers, provide a color swatch as a reminder of the color they are looking for — construction paper, paint chips, punched shapes, crayons, etc.

Distribute colors — Let each walker (or pair of walkers) choose a color or assign one to them. Provide a color sample.
Walk — As you walk, point out more unusual colors or ask questions to encourage your walkers to look beyond the obvious.
Discuss — You can choose to discuss the colors on the walk or when you return.
