This paper craft technique can be used with as few as three shapes to give you a three-dimensional effect. The more shapes you have, the fuller your final shape.
These shapes can be used as ornaments, beads and garland. You can also not glue the shapes into a full “round” shape and instead attach it to a card or scrapbook page.
Tools:
- Scissors
- Punches, paper
- Bone folder
Materials:
- Paper or pre-printed shapes
- Glue
- Marker
- String and bead, optional
Steps:
Create shapes — You can cut three (or more) similar shapes with scissors OR punch them out with a paper punch.
Fold — Fold all of your shapes in half. Make sure you fold them all the same. The bone folder makes crisper edges.
Glue — Glue two halves together (white side). Continue doing this until you have the first and last piece to glue.
String — For ornaments, you may want to place your string BEFORE gluing the last two pieces. Otherwise, glue them and you can string them later.
NOTE: Use a marker to cover the white edges of paper for a more finished look.
