Have you fought the resistance?
That voice in your head that says it can’t be done?
When your girls want to try something new, it’s the voice that says it’s too hard to learn something new. It costs too much and we can’t afford it. Not all the girls want to do it.
In reality, Girl Scouts was set up so the girls work together to afford, to learn and to resist our natural tendency to continue doing those things we are comfortable doing.
Our industry and educational system have taught us to listen, follow the rules and do what we’re told.
Where has that gotten us?
It’s our responsibility to show our girls the face of the resistance. To expose its lies. To show our girls that a new generation of people who are doing those things that make them uncomfortable are succeeding. That failure is merely a learning experience. That what each girl can offer the world is unique. We need that uniqueness.
Embrace the resistance!
