Making the telephone is part of the fun.
Don’t stick to just cups and string. Try replacing them with other materials to experience the difference.
Of course, you can learn about sound waves as well.
Materials:
- Sharpened pencil
- Awl, knife or similar
- Paper cups or cans, 2
- String (kite or fishing line)
Steps:
String — Cut a piece approximately 50′ long.
Cup — Poke a hole in the bottom of the cup. Try to hit the center. Thread an end of the string through the bottom of each and tie a knot inside the cup.
Use — Make sure the line is tight and not touching anything else. Talk to each other.
Option — Try different items to replace the cups to explore the differences in materials.
