This simple yarn craft can be created anywhere. While this sheet explains how to make one that’s about hand-sized, you can use embroidery floss and toothpicks for a small one for SWAPs or branches to create a really large one.
Tools:
- Scissors
Materials:
- Popsicle sticks, 2
- Yarn, scraps
- Glue
Steps:
Start with an X — Make an “x” with two popsicle sticks.
Knot — Tie a knot around the center. Make sure it is tight.
Wrap center — Wrap to make an “x” — 10 times one way, then 10 times the other.
Wrap sticks — Wrap yarn around stick, then move around and do the next one and continue around. Be sure to wrap the same way all around.
Option:
You can change the color of yarn, use other fibers or wrap differently. Adding items such as beads, feathers, pom poms and tassels can give your design a different look.
