Control the colors by starting with a completely colored sheet. Then, cover with black and scratch the black off to reveal the color below.
The contrast of black on color is a great look that stands alone or can be incorporated into other items like cards.
Tools:
- Paintbrush
- Bamboo skewer, toothpick, etc.
Materials:
- Paper
- Crayons
- Poster paint, black
Steps:
Cover — Color the entire sheet of paper in crayon. Be sure to use multiple colors. Scribbles or blocks of color work well.
Black — Cover the entire image in black. This might be a black crayon or black poster paint. If using paint, be sure to allow enough time to dry thoroughly.
Scratch — Using a skewer, empty ball point pen or other fine-tip item scratch off the black to reveal the color below.
